Manchester United, Premier League | The signing is soon in the box. Now the expert turns his eyes to Manchester United:

Former English national team player believes Manchester United back is not good enough for the club.

It is expected that Newcastle will do several things in this year’s first transfer window, but the first signing seems to be waiting.

If, on the other hand, more English media are to be believed, it is not far off that a transfer to St. James Park will be confirmed, because Atletico Madrid player Kieran Trippier is said to be very close to a return to the Premier League.

The 31-year-old may thus be Newcastle’s first purchase under their new owners, but now TalkSport expert Gabriel Agbonlahor is questioning Manchester United’s role in the whole.

“I really can not understand how Manchester United let Trippier go to Newcastle,” the former English national team player told the channel.

– Must be frustrated

Agbonlahor played striker for Aston Villa for a number of years, and believes that the attackers at Manchester United suffer from a right wing that does not contribute enough offensively.

– Ronaldo must be so frustrated to play on that team, with Wan-Bissaka on the right. I love him defensively, but he can not beat posts. He is simply not good enough for Manchester United.

Trippier is primarily known for his offensive contributions and brilliant right foot, something Agbonlahor believes would fit perfectly into Manchester United.

– He would be perfect. I think they should just get the transition done. £ 12 million is small for such a club, and they can certainly pay the same salaries. Imagine all the scores both Ronaldo and Cavani would get with such a facilitator.

Manchester United have shown interest in the right-back on several occasions in recent transfer windows, but have never managed to sign the Englishman.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has previously spoken about the Trippier situation, and has in many ways hinted that the player is on his way out the doors in the Spanish capital.

– I always look at the positive, and am therefore grateful for what Trippier has delivered for us. He has behaved exemplary and worked really hard since he came here, and has been an important player. Now is the time to look at other options to make it work, he says.

Trippier was brought to Tottenham from Burnley in 2015, but did not get more than 69 games for the club. He took the step further from the Premier League to La Liga and Atletico Madrid in 2019, but now it is heading towards a return to English football for the right-back.
