“Manchester City Advances to FA Cup Final 2022/2023: Pep Guardiola Happy with Victory”

Manchester City managed to drive to FA Cup Final 2022/2023. Pep Guardiola happy not to play because the Citizens are no longer stuck in the top four.

City faced Sheffield United in the semifinals Cup FOUR at Wembley, Saturday (22/4/2023) evening WIB. Even though the opponents were Championship teams, Guardiola still fielded most of his best players.

City even played Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez at the same time in attack. Playing dominant from the early minutes, City were only able to open the scoring through Mahrez’s penalty in the 41st minute.

The 1-0 score increased to 3-0 after Mahrez completed a hat-trick in the 61st and 66th minutes. City also advanced to the final at Wembley next June to face the winner of the Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United party.

The victory relieved Guardiola because he was always burdened with a bad record at Wembley recently. Because of the three successive opportunities to advance to the semifinals, City have always run aground at the hands of Arsenal (2020), Chelsea (2021) and Liverpool (2022).

Moreover, City is eager to add to the treasury of FA Cup trophies under Guardiola, who won it only once in 2019. Coincidentally, the three teams that beat Arsenal in the semifinals emerged as champions. Is it City’s turn this year?

“This is the fourth time we have qualified for the semi-finals and we have always failed on the previous three occasions against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool,” said Guardiola on the club’s official website.

“We did well today. As I said at the press conference yesterday, this match was held shortly after the duel against Bayern Munich and we want to try again to qualify for the final and perform well. The players did very well, even the players replacement though..everything is perfect.”

“I am happy and very satisfied to be back in the FA Cup final after such a long time.”
