Manager Scarlett Johansson lashes out at Disney: “Disgraceful how you have announced her wages” | showbiz

FilmScarlett Johansson’s manager Bryan Lourd doesn’t laugh at Disney’s practices. According to him, the company went out of bounds not only by committing a breach of contract, but also by disclosing Scarlett’s wages.

Johansson (36) is suing Disney for breach of contract because her latest film, ‘Black Widow’, was released on both Disney+ and in theaters. Her wages depend on the number of cinema tickets sold, and that is considerably less when fans can also watch from home. Scarlett would have lost more than 40 million euros, and hopes to win it back in court.

Disney called the charges “sad and distressing” in a statement. “She already receives a salary of 17 million euros and has been amply compensated for the premiere on the streaming service. It is a pity that Scarlett no longer understands the circumstances that have arisen due to the corona crisis.”

Apekool, says Lourd. A breach of contract remains a breach of contract, no matter how much the person in question earns. “That they just made her salary public is outrageous! They try to use her success as an artist and businesswoman against her. That they make such a direct attack on her character is very substandard for a company with which many people in the sector have worked successfully for many years. The complaint was filed because Disney is well aware that they have committed a breach of contract against Scarlett. It is more advantageous for them, since the proceeds of Disney+ do not go to the artists and financial partners. So they just did this to make more money themselves, at the expense of Scarlett.”

Disney maintains that they did nothing wrong and fulfilled the contract. It is not yet known when the case will occur.
