Man urinating in NYC subway accidentally shoots himself

A man was urinating at the Times Square subway station in New York when he accidentally triggered a loaded pistol in his pocket, which resulted in him shooting himself in the leg.

According to Daily News, the 39-year-old accidentally pulled the trigger around 12:20 p.m. inside the station. Immediately after the accident, he handed the firearm to another person who then fled.

Eyewitnesses said the incident was brought to their attention when there was a loud gunfire. “It was a big blow,” said Michael Bouyea, 52, a security guard at Margaritaville Resort.

Video uploaded by people at a tobacco store named Smoke City on 40th Street shows the gunman, who wore a green hat, chatting with a few men before entering the station’s premises. A few minutes later, another man in a light pink hoodie left the station in a strangely rushed manner. According to reports, it is suspected that the gunman handed the gun to the man in the pink hoodie.

The injured gunman was rushed to Belle Vue hospital where he is currently being treated. Doctors have declared him stable, according to reports.

The “pee shot” was the second sensational incident of the day in the Times Square subway. Hours earlier, a woman named Lenny Javier was pushed to the side of a northbound train. She barely managed to survive with a few cuts and bruises on her face.
