Van de Beek was one of Man United’s failed purchases in the summer of 2020. At that time he was brought in from Ajax Amsterdam for 39 million Euros.
And entering his fourth season defending Man United, van de Beek cannot say much. He only recorded a total of 62 matches in all competitions.

His playing minutes at Man United are so mediocre when compared to when he was at Ajax. Over four seasons, he recorded a total of 175 matches in all competitions.
“I am always passionate when it comes to football speaking. “I always try to enjoy my work every day,” he told 90min.
“I have to admit, I am currently living comfortably at Manchester United. “Unfortunately, money was never my motivation to move here,” he continued.

Comeback from Injury
One of the factors that made it difficult for van de Beek to develop was an injury that had smothered him for a long time. He regretted this.
“Last season I had to be sidelined for months due to a knee injury. “I just missed that season,” he said.
“But now I feel very fit. I trained like crazy. And I’m always happy to be able to play again,” he said.

If you don’t play, leave
Unfortunately, what van de Beek hoped for did not materialize. He never got the chance to play which made him now think about leaving Old Trafford.
“I am always proud to wear the jersey of this legendary club every day. But there comes a time when I have to make a decision,” he said.
“I have to get playing minutes as soon as possible. If not at Man United, then at another club. “I think there is nothing wrong with ambition like this,” he stressed.
