A man was injured last night in a stabbing on the ferry that went from Central Station to Buiksloterweg. He then jumped into the water.

That happened around 3:30 am. The victim emerged from the water on the north side of the IJ. The suspect stayed on the ferry and was met by officers. He pelted them with stones and was shot in the legs.
The victim of the stabbing was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The suspect also had to go to hospital.
The ferry route between CS and Buiksloterweg has not been used for hours. According to a bystander, the ferries went to the IJplein instead. ‘There it is now coming and going of ferries.’ The normal timetable was partially restored around 7.20 am resumes, although the ferry where the stabbing took place is still at a standstill.
The National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the actions of the officers.
