The incident happened in the Coop Mega store in Fauske on Monday night. A man in his 30s is still critically injured, while a man in his 20s received superficial injuries.
– He is sorry for what has happened, and is happy that things have apparently gone well with the offended party. He is glad it did not get worse, says the man’s defender, Finn-Ove Smith Saltenposten.
On Wednesday, the man was remanded in custody for two weeks. The reason was the danger of evidence being lost.
– He has acknowledged the fact, no one believes that anyone else has committed the act. The question is whether he can be convicted of this, says Smith.
The man was admitted to the psychiatric ward at Nordland Hospital after the interrogation, but was discharged on Wednesday. He has previously been convicted of three counts of violence.
