A 31-year-old man has been charged with the kidnapping and murder of a schoolgirl in France. He abducted and raped a 14-year-old girl who was walking home from school in the town of Tonaines in the rural Lot-et-Garonne region.
A local French man who spent the day smoking cannabis in his car admitted to raping and strangling her before dumping her body in an abandoned building. This is clear from a statement by local prosecutors on Sunday, BTV reported.
While in custody, the perpetrator said he did not plan the crime and did not know the victim, adding that his “actions were sexually motivated,” the statement said.
The man lived with his partner and has a one-month-old daughter.
When he was 15, he was convicted of child sexual abuse.
A month ago, another murder of a 12-year-old girl in Paris sparked widespread outrage and anger.
