Beveren-Waas / Deinze –
A man from Deinze died in an accident with a paramotor in Vrasene. This confirms the public prosecutor’s office of East Flanders. That has started an investigation.

The accident happened around 10 am in a field in Vrasene. The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated, but the paramotor is said to have run into problems a few kilometers after take-off due to unknown causes.
Local residents saw the paramotor spinning in the air. The engine crashed into a field at the intersection of Braderik with Puchelstraat in Vrasene (Beveren-Waas), a stone’s throw from the E34.
Emergency services arrived on the scene, but the man did not survive the accident. It concerns a 50-year-old man from Deinze, confirms the public prosecutor’s office of East Flanders.
It was not a duo flight, says mayor Marc Van de Vijver van Beveren. From the initial information, it was thought that there was a second paramotor occupant, but the driver was sitting alone.
