GNR detained a 49-year-old man in the municipality of Guarda for domestic violence, who is suspected of exercising physical and psychological violence on his 70-year-old mother. The Territorial Command of GNR da Guarda states in a statement sent to the Lusa agency that the suspect was arrested on Thursday, through the Center for Investigation and Support for Specific Victims (NIAVE).
“As part of an investigation into domestic violence, the military in the Guard found out that the suspect was carrying out physical and psychological violence on his 70-year-old mother, with whom he cohabited, and a warrant was carried out that culminated in the suspect’s detention” , according to the source.
The detainee was present at the Judicial Court of Guarda and was subject to the coercive measure prohibiting him from approaching the victim and his residence, within a radius of 500 meters, being controlled by an electronic bracelet.
