“Man City beats Real Madrid 4-0 to advance to Champions League Final”

Manchester City managed to beat Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final Liga Champions. The Citizens advanced to the final 5-1 on aggregate.

Man City vs Madrid takes place at the Etihad Stadium, Thursday (18/5/2023) in the morning WIB. The two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bernardo Silva led Man City to a 2-0 lead through a brace in the first half. Eder Militao’s own goal and Julian Alvarez’s strike in the second half added to Los Blancos’ misery, which made Man City win 4-0.

Man City advanced to the final by winning 5-1 on aggregate. They met Inter Milan in the final which kicked out AC Milan 3-0 on aggregate.

Course of the Match

The hosts immediately locked Los Blancos. There was Rodri’s individual action in the sixth minute who then fired a shot in the penalty box, but his aim was still wide.

Man City got a golden opportunity in the 12th minute through Erling Haaland’s header in the mouth of the goal. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is in a sip position to counter the ball.

Courtois was again able to make a brilliant save in the 20th minute. In a position that was dead of pace, he was still able to fly to ward off Haaland’s header in the mouth of the goal.

The Real Madrid goal finally broke in the 23rd minute. Bernardo Silva received a pass from Kevin De Bruyne and immediately shot from close range. Man City lead 1-0.

Until the game had run for half an hour, Madrid still could not threaten Man City. The Spanish giants haven’t even been able to touch the ball in the Man City penalty box.

Madrid’s first attempt to get into the Man City penalty box was in the 32nd minute. Vinicius Junior received a pass and dribbled the ball into the penalty box, but the Brazilian’s effort was wasted after losing to a body charge with Kyle Walker.

Toni Kroos fired an attempt from outside the penalty box in the 34th minute. The ball he released still hit the crossbar.

Man City led 2-0 in the 37th minute. A mess in the Madrid penalty box was completed with Bernardo Silva’s header.

There were no additional goals until halftime even though Man City did not relax their attacks. Madrid also inevitably had to go all-out in the second half.

Madrid made two attempts in five minutes after the break. There was one attempt by David Alaba from the execution of a free kick which Ederson Moraes was able to counter.

The intensity of Madrid’s pressure has indeed increased. However, until the 60th minute could not score.

Haaland is really very unlucky in front of Courtois. The Norwegian striker again failed to score after his shot from raw range was countered by Courtois’ feet in the 73rd minute.
