DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan allowed malls to remain open during Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), although not all tenants in the mall were allowed to operate.
Head of the Jakarta Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI), Ellen Hidayat, said tenants that have not been permitted to operate include cinemas, children’s game centers, sports centers and other entertainment centers.
“There are several categories that have not been allowed to operate in shopping centers, such as cinema and children’s toys, fitness and leisure-related,” Ellen said. detikcom, Monday (14/9/2020).
Beyond that, all other categories are already operational. But specifically for places to eat such as cafes and restaurants, can only serve orders to take home (take away).
“All other categories that have been allowed to open in shopping centers can still be open. However, specifically for restaurants, cafes, restaurants are still allowed to open but do not serve dine-in at restaurant locations and are only allowed to serve delivery or take away,” he said.
Although it is believed that the prohibition of eating on the premises will affect the number of visitors, Ellen respects the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s decision to allow malls to operate.
“The decision made by the provincial government has also been maximal with various considerations, where so far shopping centers have always obeyed the health protocols determined by the provincial government,” he said.
For information, the mall is allowed to operate with an obligation of 50% visitor capacity. The operating hours may start around 10.00-21.00 WIB.
“Shopping centers are still allowed to operate as before, with a maximum visitor capacity of 50% who are at the same location at the same time. Fixed shopping center operating hours are the same as during the transitional PSBB period, which ranges from 10.00-21.00 WIB,” he said. .
