Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

A series of news enlivened the international news on Thursday (10/6), starting from the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in Indonesia Malaysia reached 104 percent due to surge Covid-19 until the US warned Israel and Palestine ahead of the Jewish march.

1. Covid-19 Soars, BOR in Malaysia Reaches 100 Percent

Although the daily Covid-19 case reports in Malaysia have fallen, the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in the ICU has reached 104 percent, as of last Sunday (6/6).

Director General of Health Malaysia, Noor Hisham Abdullah, said that the use of beds which reached 104 percent was worrying, because not all critically ill patients had a place in the ICU.

According to Hisham, the capacity of hospitals, especially the ICU for Covid-19 patients, is at a critical level. Covid-19 can also continue to soar if people ignore health protocols for one day.

Malaysia is indeed experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases, although recent daily reports have shown a decline. Until now, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has reached 634 thousand with a death toll of 3,611.

In addition to Covid-19, issues in the Middle East region are also still a concern. The United States warned Israel and the Palestinians to avoid provocation ahead of the Jewish march in Jerusalem.

“We believe it is very important to refrain from steps that exacerbate tensions,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price. AFP.

He said the United States would make every effort to prevent an escalation that could make matters worse.

The US warned both sides after Israel allowed a Jewish march in Jerusalem, which it alleged could trigger a new conflict with Palestinians.
