Malaysian National Team asked to bulldoze Oman in the 2026 World Cup Qualification (PPD) after failing in the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar.

Malaysia is in good performance in the 2026 World Cup Qualifications by topping the Asian Group D standings after beating Taiwan and Kyrgyzstan in November 2023.

However, this positive trend stopped at the 2023 Asian Cup after being eliminated after losing two matches in Group E. Malaysia closed the group stage with a 3-3 draw against South Korea.

Malaysian legend Dollah Saleh considered that one point score important. The former Malaysia striker also asked Harimau Malaya to rise and beat Oman in the third match of the 2023 World Cup Qualification, next March.

“A team like Oman has the same strength as the team we played against in the Asian Cup. In fact, South Korea is stronger than them, so we should be able to do well against them [Oman],” said Dollah quoted from News Strait Times.

Dollah Saleh also gave conditions to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) so that Harimau Malaya remains good in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, namely quality trials.

“The important thing is that we play quality friendly matches to prepare us for the upcoming competition. We must not play against weak teams in our friendly matches,” said Dollah.

Dollah Saleh believes it is important for FAM and Malaysia to maintain the momentum of maintaining good performance until the 2026 World Cup Qualifications.

“We have to maintain momentum. After a long time, now is the time for us to return to levels like those of the 1980s and 1990s. We are showing improvement [di Piala Asia] and if we can challenge South Korea, we can also challenge other Asian countries,” said Dollah.
