Malaysia started allowing citizens of the country Indonesia (WNI) enter his country but with strict conditions.
Malaysia had imposed an entry ban on citizens from 23 countries including Indonesia to anticipate the spread of the corona virus. The rules are now being relaxed a little.
“Since September 10, 2020, Malaysia has implemented a relaxation of the entry ban policy for 23 countries, including Indonesia,” said Indonesian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Teuku Faizasyah in a virtual press conference on Thursday (17/9) as quoted from Among.
The policy relaxation is for expatriates and professional visiting permit holders who have received approval from the Malaysian Immigration Department before entering the country.
“Their submissions must be accompanied by a letter of support from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority or related agencies,” said Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, as quoted by Antara. The Star.
The government has also decided to allow permanent residents, as well as foreign spouses of Malaysian citizens, to enter on condition that they are only for one-way flights after which they will remain there.
Student card holders from affected countries will also be allowed to enter Malaysia.
“All the categories mentioned must get approval from immigration first,” said Ismail.
Ismail said Immigration would not accept new applications for student permits.
The entry ban, which took effect on September 7, was imposed on 23 countries with recorded cases of Covid-19, namely the United States, Brazil, India, Russia, Peru, Colombia, South Africa, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Iran, Bangladesh , United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, France, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Iraq, the Philippines and Indonesia.
