“Makan di Restoran, Pelanggan Bingung dengan Tagihan Air Putih Rp 109 Ribu”

Jakarta

Via a TikTok upload, a customer shares his experiences with expensive bills at restaurants. He questioned the price of his water, which was up to Rp. 109,000.

Recently, some customers have been surprised while eating at the restaurant. They often ask questions regarding menu prices and bills that are far different from their expectations.

Usually, restaurants charge higher fees due to raw material factors and increased rental costs. However, not a few restaurants suddenly charge unclear fees.

Despite the increase in prices in restaurants, some customers may understand it. However, there are also those who still question the price of the menu which they consider to be unreasonable. Like this customer who is still surprised to see his expensive water bill when eating at a restaurant.

By uploading a TikTok @babysshhaa, a customer named Baby shows his frustration as well as a meal bill receipt at a restaurant called Totti’s Restaurant located in Bondi, Australia.

It can be seen that Baby ordered two bottles of 1 liter mineral water from two different brands. The first bottle came from the Pellegrino brand and the second bottle came from the Panna brand. Both are packaged in glass bottles, not plastic, reported dailydot.com (18/05).

The two bottles of mineral water are priced at 11.00 AUD or around Rp. 109,000. So a total of two bottles of drinking mineral water that he ordered was 22.00 AUD or the equivalent of Rp. 218,000.

Seeing his drinking bottle bill that reached hundreds of thousands, Baby still couldn’t believe it. It seems that this is the first time Baby has bought mineral water at a very high price. He had asked netizens whether at this price he could take the bottle home.

“If we are charged this for mineral water, can we take the bottle home?” he wrote.

In the comments column, this woman also explained that previously the restaurant only offered plain water without giving a choice of the type of water they would serve.

Baby thought the restaurant would only serve tap water, not this bottled water. Because most restaurants in Australia generally offer free water in the form of tap water that customers can enjoy.

But apparently not the Totti’s restaurant, which actually offers branded mineral water that has an expensive price. Baby’s annoyance made him want to ask the restaurant for a partial refund.

“Can we get a partial refund??? Why is it up to 11.00 AUD??”, he protests in the video.

Seeing the uploaded video of the protest, not a few netizens felt sorry for Baby because they had to be stuck paying Rp. 106,000 for water.

One netizen tried to answer his question while calming down, “Usually they will ask if you want tap water, sparkling water, or plain mineral water. But if the mineral water ordered doesn’t run out, you can take it home! You’re the one who pays the bill.”

“Seriously, just take the bottle,” said another netizen.

While there are also those who have experienced similar incidents by commenting, “No, this is like what I experienced. I ordered 3 bottles and didn’t know if they charged me until the receipt came out and I was very surprised.”

“Imagine mineral water for 12 people can be up to 230 AUD (Rp. 2 million),” said another.

Talking about mineral water in Australian restaurants, there are indeed some restaurants that like to offer a choice of tap water or bottled mineral water. If they choose bottled mineral water, the customer must be prepared to pay the bill.
