(PressFire.no): The leaks will not stop in 2023.
Just days after almost 100,000 prototypes of games and apps were leaked online, and almost two terabytes of information from Insomniac Games was posted, another huge leak has appeared.
This time it’s Rockstar who has (again) lost content: The entire source code and files for “GTA V” have allegedly been posted online (PressFire has not verified at the time of writing that the files originate from that game).
The leak allegedly stems from last year’s break-in at Rockstar, where a number of videos and content from “GTA VI” were leaked.
The source code is the raw data that builds the game and determines how it works, and several people now fear that the leak of the source code will lead to more cheating in “GTA Online”, i.e. the multiplayer part of “GTA V”.
In the leaked files, which include both early versions of the game’s maps and models, references are made to several DLC packs that were in development for the story portion of the game.
This includes an additional pack that was set for Liberty City. Many of the add-on packs were later implemented in “GTA Online”.
The files also contain models and such that are allegedly connected to other Rockstar games such as the canceled “Agent”.
