Major fire in plant nursery Roelofarendsveen, no injuries

There was a very large fire at a plant nursery in Roelofarendsveen in South Holland. No injuries were reported, the Hollands-Midden security region reported.

The fire is now under control. However, the fire service expects to be busy extinguishing the fire until the morning.

The fire broke out in the nursery around midnight. Flames quickly erupted from the building. The fire brigade deployed many vehicles to bring the fire under control. Several homes near the business were evacuated.

A lot of smoke was released during the fire and this could be seen in the wider area around Roelofarendsveen. The smoke development has now decreased, but the fire service warns that it could flare up again due to the extinguishing.
