The Robert Koch Institute reported more new infections from almost everywhere in the region on Thursday than in the past few days. The 7-day incidences have increased in Würzburg city and district, Kitzingen, Main-Spessart, and the Schweinfurt district. Only in the city of Schweinfurt has the incidence decreased. The development may be due to late reports from the health authorities and contacts at Christmas, experts had predicted this. Nevertheless, the Würzburg district remains the front runner in Bavaria with an incidence of around 60. The corona pandemic is spreading more slowly there than in all other Bavarian regions. In the Main-Spessart district, the 7-day incidence has risen slightly compared to the previous day. It is now around 158. But that is still the highest value in Mainfranken. In the city of Würzburg the incidence is around 96, in the district of Kitzingen around 89.
