The contact restrictions will not be relaxed over Easter – nevertheless, many people want to meet their families on the holidays as far as possible. In Main Franconia – as of Tuesday – two households with a maximum of five people are allowed to meet. And many of them want to do a corona test to be on the safe side. As the district offices of Würzburg, Main-Spessart and Kitzingen confirm, the tests on Easter days are in great demand. In many cases it was therefore increased.
In Würzburg, the test center on the Talavera is open from Good Friday to Monday – but there are only free appointments on Easter Monday. PCR tests can be carried out here. According to the health department, the capacity has been increased to 1,050 possible tests per day. So the demand here is extremely high. Rapid antigen tests – which are sufficient for a visit to the nursing home, for example – are also done. However, those willing to test should switch to pharmacies and try to make appointments there. The extra appointments in Bergtheim, Waldbrunn, Ochsenfurt and the Kürnachtalhalle in Würzburg are already fully booked on the Easter weekend.
In the Main-Spessart district, the test center in Gemünden is open on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. PCR and rapid antigen tests are offered here. Appointments for this can be arranged online or by phone. The test center in Marktheidenfeld is open on Easter Monday, and appointments are also available online or by telephone. Only PCR tests can be done here. Appointments are still free at Easter in both Gemünden and Marktheidenfeld.
In the district of Kitzingen, the Albertshofen test track is closed over Easter (Good Friday to Easter Monday). Tests ordered by the health department are still carried out, but citizens cannot book them themselves. Rapid antigen tests are also offered over Easter – but they are already very booked. Individual appointments are only available through the BRK in Volkach and Dettelbach. They can only be arranged online.
