Magician Alexx Alexxander to Perform at Hollywood’s Exclusive Magic Castle

The last half of 2023 will be hectic for the magician Alexx Alexxander (38) with week-long series of shows in both Oslo and Gothenburg. And in Hollywood.

Alexxander has been invited to perform at the exclusive nightclub and fairytale castle Magic Castle in Hollywood starting on 28 August.

– Having your own show in Hollywood is really a dream come true. It’s big and something I’ve been working on for a long time. Standing on a stage as the main attraction where the most famous magicians in history have stood before me gives me chills, says Alexx Alexxander on the phone from Hollywood, where he has spent the last week preparing for the roughly week-long mission at the Magic Castle.

Magic Castle calls itself “the most unusual private club in the world” where only members and their guests have access. The club is dedicated to magicians and magic enthusiasts, has several stages, bars and restaurants. The dress code is strict, mobile phones prohibited.

Greats from Orson Welles to Steve Martin have performed there.

– Elegant and stylish, which suits me well. The environment is perfect for my show, says Alexxander.

However, the stay at Magic Castle last week became very special when the place’s founder, Milt Larsen, died the same week that Alexx Alexxander stayed there. The death was widely reported in American media. Larsen was 92 years old.

– Imagine that I am down here preparing a show in his castle at the same time as he leaves us, says Alexxander.

He got the news during a lunch with Gay Blackstone, widow of the famous magician Harry Blackstone Jr. and chairman of the board at Magic Castle. Later, a solemn commemoration was held.

– It was nice to be there in his honor. The last time I saw him was a year ago. Then I was a guest at his table in the exclusive restaurant at the castle. He congratulated me on the award I had received in Las Vegas just days before, he says.

Later this autumn, he will be a “permanent fixture” at Edderkoppen Scene in Oslo for almost the whole of October, and in November he will travel across the Swedish border to present his show for three weeks at the Lisebergsteatern in Gothenburg in connection with Liseberg’s 100th anniversary.

– It is always better to stand in one place. Then the show can be bigger and cooler, and we can really give the audience the ultimate experience. And not having to travel and do the big rig up and down every day. There is a lot of work with such a large production.
