He added that "Determining safe, permanent and cost-effective ways to limit progression from pre-diabetes to type II disease, a clinical goal and further studies are needed to verify it".

Romeo continued: "Longer and larger studies should address the effects of cinnamon on the rate of progression from pre-diabetes to type 2 diabetes".
