The prosecution brought indictments to the court against five people, including the PO MEP and the widow of the murdered Gdańsk president Magdalena A. and her mother, the Polish Press Agency in the National Prosecutor’s Office found out on Friday. MEP is accused of filing false tax returns.

According to the information provided by the National Prosecutor’s Office, Magdalena A. – the wife of the deceased president of Gdańsk, and currently a member of the Civic Platform MEP – was to conceal nearly PLN 300,000 and PLN 100,000 of income in tax returns for 2011-2012. The prosecutor’s office also accuses her of failing to account for income from renting flats as conducted in the conditions of non-agricultural business activity. According to investigators, the tax reduction was almost PLN 120,000. Such acts are punishable by a fine or imprisonment.
The MEP’s mother was supposed to give false testimony
The prosecution also covers Janina A., the mother of an MEP. The prosecutor’s office accused her of giving false testimony in the investigation of irregularities in the property declaration of the President of Gdańsk murdered 1.5 years ago and in criminal proceedings. According to the investigators, during the interrogation, the woman gave false testimony as a witness that the MEP’s grandfather had hundreds of thousands of zlotys in savings, which were to be transferred to Paweł and Magdalena A. as a donation. The prosecutor’s office indicated that, in fact, the MEP’s grandfather did not have significant assets.
