“There is no consensus today on sending, officially, ground troops. We will do whatever is necessary to prevent Russia from winning this war.” added the French president at a press conference after the end of the international conference on Ukraine organized at the Elysee.

Macron did not want to reveal more about France’s position on the issue. “I did not say that France is not in favor,” he continued. “I don’t remove the ambiguity by naming names. I say it was one of the options discussed,” he added.

“Military aid is being upgraded”

However, the French president announced that the West will strengthen the military aid it provides to Ukraine.

Specifically, a group of states intends to deliver to Kiev missiles medium and long rangesaid the president of France, while several European countries declared that they support the Czech proposal to jointly purchase ammunition from outside Europe on behalf of Ukraine.

Macron also mentioned that there are five sectors in which all the countries that took part in the conference agree that initiatives should be taken.
