Macron has announced a path towards the limit of 1 million electric cars per year

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that he is leading France towards the “future of electric vehicles”. He stated this in a speech he gave at the Paris Motor Show, DPA reported.

China was not far behind: at the fair it became clear that it wants to establish itself with high-class cars in Europe.

Macron announced that the goal is to produce 2 million electric cars per year starting in 2030 and by 2026 or 2027 “to reach the limit of 1 million per year”.

“We are here to help and support manufacturers in the long term, to continue to innovate and make France once again a great automotive nation of the future,” said the French president.

At the Paris Motor Show, the CEO of the car company “Stellantis” Carlos Tavares announced that “Peugeot” has started production in France of three electric car models.

Along with “Renault” and “Peugeot”, leading Chinese car manufacturers are represented at the Paris exhibition, including “Great Wall Motors”, “Seres” (Seres) and “Biwi Di” (abbreviated from “Build Your Dreams” or “Build your dreams” – ed).

“BWYD”, leader in the production of electric cars, presents 3 of its models. The company, like other Chinese manufacturers represented at the show, does not offer low-end cars. It aims to establish itself in the European market with more luxurious cars, whose starting price starts at 70,000 euros, France Press reported.
