Macron defends teen who is threatened to criticize Islam Abroad

The riot around the 16-year-old Mila keeps the mood in France busy and stirs up a discussion about freedom of expression. In a video on Instagram, the girl fiercely learned against Islam and appeared in a French show. She said, among other things, that there is only “hatred” in the Koran. She then received death threats and could no longer go to her school in southeastern France, because bothering suits had spread her data online.

It all started with a Muslim boy who did like the teenager, to which she responded that she is a lesbian and that he therefore has no chance. The girl later emphasized that she did not want to hurt anyone and that she had spoken too coarse words, but she did not take back her strong criticism of religion. “Because I really think so.”

“We have forgotten that Mila is an adolescent,” said Macron in the paper Le Dauphiné Libéré. “We owe her protection at school and in her daily life.” He also stated that the law is clear and that people have the right to mock religions.
