Machinefabriek Vlissingen becomes drive-in cinema – Omroep Zeeland

The drive-in cinema will have a permanent setting of about 50 cars. The film festival has entered into a partnership with a regional car dealer for this. It makes fifty cars available, both new and used, in which visitors can take a seat.

According to Film by the Sea (FbtS), this has found a playful solution for the reduced auditorium capacity in the cinema due to the corona measures during this edition of the festival. In total, a hundred people can watch a movie in the drive-in cinema.

A large screen measuring ten by six meters is placed in the Machine Factory. Visitors can watch the film from the car. The sound comes from the speakers of a radio that is placed in the car. Visitors can of course also purchase a so-called snack bag with various delicacies and drinks to complete the drive-in experience.

Two performances per evening

Film screenings in the Machinefabriek will take place from Saturday 12 to Tuesday 15 September. Two performances are scheduled per evening around 8.15 pm and 10.30 pm. Some of the performances are sponsored performances for companies and organizations. But there are also performances for which single tickets go on sale.

Film by the Sea will be held from September 11 to 20 this year. Tuesday evening July 7 is the Amuse of the festival. During this official launch of the festival, the members of the jury will be announced.
