Maccabi Haifa’s Europa League Journey: Facing Rennes, Villarreal, and Panathinaikos

After qualifying last year for the group stage of the Champions League (C1), the most prestigious club competition on the European continent, Maccabi Haifa will play this season in the Europa League (C3) on a European scale. , a competition which remains prestigious.

Last year, in the Champions League group stage, Haifa won against Juventus of Italy and put in a strong performance against French stars Paris Saint-Germain, which ended in defeat.

The competition, however, ended in humiliating defeats for the Israeli club, the smallest of the competition, with a score of 7-2 against PSG and 6-1 against the Portuguese Benfica, and the team finished at the last place in his group.

Haifa also reached the Champions League group stage in 2009–10 and 2002–03. No Israeli club has ever reached the round of 16.

Maccabi Haifa Football Club was founded in 1913. With 15 titles, it is the second most successful club in the Israeli championship, behind Maccabi Tel Aviv.
