The MP of Ioannina of SYRIZA-PS Meropi Tzoufi submitted a report to the Minister of Education & Religious Affairs about the letter of the Ombudsman, where the issue of the exclusion of substitute teachers, who participate as candidates in the parliamentary elections, is raised.

According to the Ombudsman’s letter, the “punitive” provisions that force substitute teachers to resign from their positions in order to become citizens and at the same time exclude them from the right to participate in next year’s recruitment applications, are considered a deterrent to the participation of substitute teachers in their inalienable and guaranteed political right to be elected.

The member of parliament of Ioannina, advocating the above, by filing the petition asks the competent Minister to take care, with immediate legislative regulation, for the change of the existing institutional framework, so that the candidates for parliament are not excluded from the next school year’s recruitment as substitutes teachers.

The member of parliament submitted a second report to the Minister of Education & Religious Affairs, the letter of 112 doctoral candidates – fellows of the IKY and 84 solidarity professors, postdoctoral fellows, doctors, doctoral candidates, researchers and postgraduate students, who raise the issue of the extension from Administrative Authority, until 15/12/023, for the payment of the Final Deliverables, as well as the possibility of an additional extension, if this is deemed necessary by the Each Three-Member Advisory Committee.

Meropi Tzoufi asks the competent Minister to ensure that an extension of time is granted for the submission of the final deliverables to the IKY Doctoral Scholarship Candidates, as well as to ensure that the injustice of returning their scholarships is removed.
