According to data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the location of the earthquake occurred on Saturday (16/10/2021), at 03.18 WIB. The location point is 8.32 south latitude, 1115.45 east longitude.
“The epicenter was located 8 km northwest of Karangasem,” wrote BMKG.
The epicenter of the earthquake was within 10 km. The earthquake was also felt in Denpasar, to Lombok.
“It is felt (MMI) IV Denpasar, IV Karangasem, IV North Lombok, III East Lombok, III West Lombok, III Central Lombok, III Mataram,” he said.
III MMI means, the vibration is felt real in the house. There was a vibration as if a truck had passed.
Meanwhile, IV MMI means that during the day it is felt by many people in the house, outside by several people, pottery is broken, windows/doors creak and walls make noise.
There is no information about the damage caused by the earthquake. Including information on the presence or absence of victims.
