Crisis club Lyon’s player bus was attacked on its way to the away match against Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1. French reports RMC Sport.
Angry fans reportedly threw stones at the bus, shattering the windows of the vehicle. Lyon’s coach, World Cup gold winner Fabio Grosso, is said to have been injured in the attack.
The broken glass must have caused cuts to Grosso’s face. On pictures Grosso is seen walking into Lyon’s dressing room wearing a large bandage around his head.
According to RMC, both players and coaches are shocked by the incident.
A crisis meeting is now taking place to find out if the match will be able to be carried out.
The big team Lyon is last in the French league after a nightmare start with zero wins in nine games.
