Since the beginning of March, the infectious and tropical diseases department of Lyon Civil Hospices located atCroix-Rousse hospital has moved to a new building equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, and integrating an ultra-secure treatment course. A project started in 2013.
The new 4,190 m² building accommodates 100 professionals and has 45 individual rooms, including two in high REB isolation (epidemic and biological risk), 12 isolation with airlock and negative pressure, and 31 non-pressurized with airlock, a first in France.
A project worth 15.5 million euros (including 3.8 from the Regional Health Agency) which, by bringing together the units dedicated to infectious diseases and offices in the same building, must streamline the care. The resuscitation service is also on site if needed.
