After a 30-year hiatus, Luxembourg returned to Eurovision 2024 and captivated fans with its musical performance. Thus, the representative of the country TALI took the stage in the first semi-final of the contest held in Malmö and performed the composition called “Fighter”.
The performer managed to represent her country well and get to the grand final, which will take place on May 11. Together with other finalists, she received the right to compete for the Crystal Microphone. The video of the artist’s performance can be found on YouTube.

The song “Fighter”, which is in French, tells listeners about “people’s suffering and how they endure it”. Including, Tali gives an example from her own life and talks about the period of her stay in New York, where she experienced “a lot of rejection” in the music field.
The performance of the representative of the Grand Duchy made it possible for the country to enter the top ten favorites who were among the first finalists of this year’s international song contest based on the results of audience voting. Nevertheless, bookmakers are not so optimistic about Luxembourg’s chances of victory, because after the first semi-final, this country fell to the 22nd place in the experts’ rating.

It will be recalled that Luxembourg made its debut at Eurovision since the foundation of this competition – in 1956. This country is one of the most successful participants, because it has many victories behind its shoulders. Ireland and Sweden can boast of a greater number (7), as well as five victories each – in France, the Netherlands and Great Britain.
In addition, in the past, Luxembourg won this competition for two years in a row – in 1972 and 1973. But after unsuccessful performances in the 80s and early 90s, the country decided to stop participating in the large-scale event – this happened in 1993.
It turns out that 23-year-old Tali Golergant, who was born in November 2000, has never seen her country take part in Eurovision. Therefore, she had the opportunity to become the performer who returned her country to the competition after a break of more than 30 years.
Golergant was born in Israel and currently lives in New York, where she works as a vocal and music teacher. The girl also plays in musicals, including Les Misérables. As you know, she presented her first album in 2021.
