Bad Waldsee – “I’m really speechless – many, many thanks to all of you, the money goes directly to the children” – with these words Beatrix Pleli thanked the musicians of the band “Lulu und the wet kittens”.
“Lulu and the wet kittens”, these are musical buddies from the Gaisbeur tennis club, men’s 40 section. The idea for the men’s band came about during the Corona period. At that time, none of the experienced athletes had played a musical instrument – but what united them was the fun and joy of music. So they decided that everyone would learn an instrument and that they would form a band together – they didn’t “yet” reveal how they came up with the unusual name “Lulu and the Wet Kittens” at the photo shoot last week in the mayor’s room.

But they had brought a check for 1008 euros. The money was raised through the “Christmas Tree Praise”. The “boys” gave a “living room concert” to a total of four families who had invited friends. The enthusiastic listeners thanked Ulm for the musical entertainment with donations for children suffering from tumors and leukemia. “We were completely surprised ourselves that so much money was raised. We want to do it again next Christmas, the families have already agreed and maybe more will join us,” says Stefan Scheiter happily. The idea of donating to the children came from Mayor Matthias Henne, for whom supporting the support association and thus the children and their parents is a matter close to his heart. For example, the money can be used to purchase toys, fulfill heartfelt wishes, and make additional therapies possible. Parents’ homes can also be supported with donations.
