Luis Rubiales will be arrested when he returns to Spain for irregular contracts – 2024-03-29 21:30:25

The former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales will be arrested when he returns to Spain within the framework of the operation that is being carried out related to alleged irregular contracts during his management in the last five years.

Rubiales was one of the targets of this operation among the people to be detained, but for approximately a month he has been in the Dominican Republic, which the judge handling the case and the investigators already knew.

However, sources close to the investigation have indicated to EFE that the former president of the RFEF will be arrested when he returns to our country, if he does so. If he does not return, other measures would be arbitrated.

Also in that Central American country is his friend Francisco Javier Martín, known as ‘Nene’, a former soccer player who would also be arrested upon his return to Spain.

The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard searched the headquarters of the RFEF this Wednesday in search of possibly irregular contracts from the last five years, coinciding with Luis Rubiales’ time at the head of the entity.

A record that has been added to ten others, including that of the Granada home of the former president of the RFEF and the La Cartuja stadium in Seville.

At least two directors of the Federation – the directors of Legal Services and Human Resources, Pedro González Segura and José Javier Giménez, respectively – have been arrested, as well as the latter’s brother and a trusted man of Rubiales, the legal advisor. RFEF external Tomás González Cueto.
