The Cologne Regional Court is today dealing with a lawsuit brought by the Baden-Württemberg consumer center against Lufthansa. The background is the corona pandemic, because of which the airline cut almost the entire flight schedule in the spring. Under EU law, passengers are entitled to reimbursement of ticket costs in such a case, within one week. The consumer advocates accuse Lufthansa of giving customers the impression that they would have to accept vouchers and that it made it difficult to apply for a refund. Lufthansa did not respond to a warning from the Baden-Württemberg consumer center. According to Lufthansa, 300,000 reimbursements worth 160 million euros are currently still open.
