At Lufthansa around 22,000 Places are in danger. Now, the group has shown, where and how many Jobs are in the balance.

The personnel situation in the group was discussed as a result of the Corona-crisis. On Monday (15. June) were also informed of the works councils. Alone, the airline Lufthansa was affected “in perspective with mathematically almost 5000 Points,” said the group. In the case of the pilots in 600 jobs are at risk, in the case of the flight 2600 and the ground staff of 1500 companions. Figures could still rise
Lufthansa Technik has a worldwide surplus of around 4500 Points, of which 2500 are in Germany. The catering subsidiary LSG Group has worldwide 8300 to much, in Germany there are 1500. The excess capacity could even rise, if you can’t find a way, “with competitive personnel costs to come through the crisis,” says Niggemann. The group proposes short-time working, collective agreements on the reduction of the working week, or other cost-cutting measures.

Niggemann: “In the greatest crisis in the history of aviation, we want to ensure, in spite of all the challenges, more than 100,000 jobs in the Lufthansa Group over the long term.
