Yesterday, Wednesday, the airline Lufthansa announced this due to ongoing management problems it had to cancel around 2,000 more flights in July and August. This should mainly relieve the large German hubs, i.e. airports such as Frankfurt and Munich.
How much does this affect travelers from Dresden? Now many flights are canceled from the local airport?
No do not worry. As a Lufthansa spokesman explained to TAG24, there are “deliberate cancellations” on some connections, but this only serves to unburden the whole system.
In particular, flights to and from Frankfurt am Main are particularly affected at Dresden Airport. In the current week, for example, a connection was scheduled to go down on Monday evening and it was Friday tomorrow according to the official arrival plan actually planned four flights from Frankfurt to Dresden, three of which were cancelled.
Things are going even better for departures, only a flight to the main Hessian metropolis was canceled on Tuesday. All in all, the bankruptcies are very reasonable.

Next to Lufthansa Eurowings had also announced some cancellations, which currently affects the Dresden – Düsseldorf connection in particular. That is why only one plane has broken down this week, which is supposed to fly from NRW to Saxony on Wednesday morning and then return immediately.
All other routes and especially holiday destinations such as Mallorca, Greece and Turkey seem to be spared at the moment by flight cancellations or cancellations at Dresden Airport.
And what about the future? Opposite of Saxon newspaper A Lufthansa spokesman explained that the flights had to be adjusted daily, “depending on the situation at other German airports and passenger demand”.
So if you want to go to Frankfurt or Düsseldorf, you might have to switch to another car or just take the train. All other travelers and holidaymakers should still be able to arrive and take off safely at Dresden Airport.
