Joachim Löw is surprised by the level in the Bundesliga after the resumption. The national coach of Germany sees that players also fight a lot in empty stadiums and is especially impressed by Bayern Munich.
“Football without emotion in the stands takes some getting used to, both for the viewer and for the players, but I am positively surprised”, Löw said in an interview on the website of the German Football Association on Saturday.
“There is nothing to criticize about the motivation of the players. Players do everything to score or prevent a goal.”
Löw thinks that the period of more than two months without competitions had a positive effect on this. “After such a long time, you as a player feel like playing football. The institution is good. Even without an audience, people compete and reach a high level.”

“Bayern is a close-knit team again”
The disadvantage for the neutral viewer is that the German title fight is as good as decided. There was hope for an exciting conclusion after the Bundesliga resumed as the first top league since the outbreak of the corona virus, but leader Bayern Munich now has seven points ahead of number two Borussia Dortmund.
Low does not think that Bayern, which won 0-1 at Dortmund on Tuesday, is still in trouble. “I don’t see Bayern giving this away. They came out of the hiatus in a concentrated way and under trainer Hansi Flick it is a close team again.”
The Bundesliga continues five games on Saturday. Bayern will play at home against relegation candidate Fortuna Düsseldorf at 6:30 PM.
