In the ZDF television garden, “Mambo No. 5 ”interpreter Lou Bega is making his comeback, but that doesn’t go down well with everyone: The Latin pop singer is literally torn apart on Twitter for his new“ Macarena ”version – meanwhile Andrea Kiewel’s audience happily danced along!

Mainz – With “Mambo No. 5 “, Lou Bega (45) stormed the international music world in 1999: The long-lasting catchy tune won in Germany, Austria and even Great Britain Number one in the singles charts – but it quickly became quite quiet again around the native of Munich. In the ZDF television garden, the 45-year-old celebrated his comeback on Sunday (June 27, 2021) with Andrea Kiewel (56) and presented on Lerchenberg his version of the cult hit “Macarena”. While the live audience danced happily, the tatters flew on Twitter once again.

ZDF television garden: Lou Bega sings “Buena Macarena” with Andrea Kiewel – and is torn apart in the network

So did Lou Bega his comeback definitely not presented: The “world hit maker”, as Andrea Kiewel announced the Latin pop singer in the ZDF television garden, was on stage with his new song “Buena Macarena”. The Spanish duo Los del Río once achieved international fame with the iconic party song and dance, but things turned out differently for Lou Bega. The live audience was immediately carried away by the world-famous melody to some dance steps, on Twitter one would have expected the comeback of the 45-year-old “Mambo No. 5 “stars, however I would rather do without.

“That won’t be a new hit either”, predicted a user quickly – and was not alone with his ZDF TV garden criticism of Lou Bega: “Lou Bega’s pajamas are really mega …”, one user was furious about the 45-year-old’s outfit choice and gave then to: “Oh no matter. I find the guy and his song annoying anyway. ”His“ Macarena ”cover wasn’t particularly well received either: “Another new edition that the world would not have needed”, judged one viewer, another said: “From ‘Mambo No. 5 ‘I haven’t recovered to this day. ”The fact that Andrea Kiewel’s broadcast on Twitter is taken apart Sunday after Sunday is now almost a tradition. That didn’t bother the live guests: They danced their way through “Buena Macarena” in a good mood and with confidence.

ZDF television garden: Not only Lou Bega is making a comeback – LaFee is also performing

But in addition to Lou Bega there was in the ZDF television garden another, almost forgotten star a big comeback: Pop-rock singer LaFee (30) sang “Halt mich fest”, a cover version of the a-ha song “Take On Me”. Although the 30-year-old was not well received by all viewers – or Twitter users – she escaped such a shit storm as he met Lou Bega shortly before. But it doesn’t have to hide: With “Mambo No. 5 “was the 45-year-old at the commercially most successful German pop music production of all time involved – a great record!
