Schröder snatches extra time
During the first period, neither team gained the upper hand over the other, the Lakers returning to the locker room with only three points ahead (65-62). In the third quarter, LA then widened the gap (94-82, 36th), but Utah managed to come back and regain the advantage (100-98, 43rd). Followed a hand to hand right down to the last few seconds. And Dennis Schröder, the leader of the Lakers, sent the two teams into overtime, three seconds from the buzzer.

The fight continued in the additional five minutes of play. Then Los Angeles again escaped on a shot from Andre Drummond (122-115, 51st) and, this time, Utah could not react. The Lakers hub was his team’s leading scorer with 27 points. Schröder and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also contributed (25 points each). Jordan Clarkson was the most prominent on the Utah side (27 pts).

San Antonio ruthless with Phoenix
