An Air France executive, the 55-year-old author was born in 1965 into a family of railway workers and lived in Metz for his first twenty years before leaving for Lyon to continue his higher education.

In this first novel, already available in bookstores and in the process of being translated, he evokes the story of a father, a railway worker in eastern France who is raising his two sons alone and discovers their difficulties. As when he discovers that his eldest has become a stranger to him by approaching the National Front when he himself was a socialist militant. Modesty and difficulties of the father-son bond are one of the springs of this novel which is unanimous among booksellers and critics.
