The district court of the district court has the 36-year-old owner of an iron braiding company from the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald
Freiburg was sentenced in March to a two-year suspended sentence in several cases for withholding and misappropriating wages. Officials of the financial control office for illegal work at the main customs office in Lörrach had encountered the first suspicions during a suspicious site inspection in summer 2017.

Checks on the business documents substantiated the suspicion that the customer contracts and outgoing invoices found resulted in an order volume that could never have been achieved with the relatively few employees reported to the social security institutions. The court finally saw it as proven
that the businessman had employed and paid several black workers over a period of around four years. In order to cover up the expenses for the black wages, he had fictitious invoices created by subcontractors and booked their alleged payment. The determined damage sum resulted in an amount of 243,000 euros. The withheld contributions are now being reclaimed by health insurance companies, the professional association and the vacation and wage compensation funds of the construction industry. The judgment has now become final.
