He and Linn-Therece Johansen got married in a private ceremony in Horten on Saturday with venerable Karljohansvern as surroundings.
Karljohansvern was established in 1818, and was an important naval station for the Armed Forces until it gradually became a civilian shipyard with private actors.
It still stands as a strong symbol of the nation and the history of the military.
– I was often in Horten and trained at the time in the Armed Forces Special Command. And Linn-Therece has lived here for a few years as a child when her father worked at Karljohansvern, Kristoffersen says to VG via the Armed Forces’ press guard.
– So when we now get married, the beautiful surroundings at Karljohansvern were an obvious choice, he continues.
In May 2020, Eirik Kristoffersen joined appointed Chief of Defense.
The former general has extensive experience from the Armed Forces’ special command, and has served in Afghanistan for several periods.
He has also received the War Cross with Sword, which is the highest ranked military award.
In June this year, he participated in the Pride parade as first chief of defense ever.
