“Lombardy in the yellow zone from 11 December” – Corriere.it

Lombardy should enter the yellow zone on 11 December. The conditional is mandatory because the passage is only guaranteed whether the data will continue to be online with those of the last days. This was confirmed on Thursday by the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, who imagines from mid-December a Region with freedom of movement, a movement that the governors (all the Regions should be in the yellow zone at that point) aim to have among the Municipalities also on 25 and 26 December and 1 January, contrary to what is established by the decree approved on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

Let’s start with the chromatic transition. If the numbers continue to be those of the last few days we should enter in the yellow zone on 11 December – Fontana said -. an automatic transition, which must then be made concrete by a provision by the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza. For Fontana, this is an important signal that our sacrifice was worth it, because we lowered the contagion line and lowered the pressure on hospitals.

The second point emerged Thursday early in the morning in the form of clash with the government, and in the late afternoon with a meeting and a request to the premier, the decree approved on the night that also in the yellow areas prevents the movement between municipalities on 25 and 26 December and 1 January. A fact, both for the content and for the modality, simply lunar, commented Fontana on Thursday morning. In the afternoon, the meeting between the government and the Regions where they have asked for a change. We expressed our disappointment at the approval of the bill that was made during the night and essentially prevented us from entering into the merits of a substantial part of the Dpcm. We reiterated how this choice creates situations of difficulty for many citizens, unable to meet relatives, elderly parents or grandparents, and above all you create disparity between large cities and small municipalities. This would be a substantial and unjustified limitation of the lives of our citizens, which would be independent of being in the yellow zone.

The Regions therefore asked the premier to create a privileged parliamentary path – explains Fontana -, while realizing the period of great activity of the Chamber and Senate, to modify this decree (before the conversion into law, ed). Conte took note of our request. What does this mean in practice? There is no space on the parliamentary agenda. The most accredited hypothesis is that insert the change as an amendment to another text already under discussion and then converting the dl into law before 25 December. Pointing (not a little) on the fact that even 25 senators of the Democratic Party, therefore of the majority, are against the ban.
