Bio-Rad employees in Roanne (Loire) went on strike Wednesday April 14 and Thursday April 15, 2021 to denounce the closure of their business in 2022.
Indeed, the American group specializing in biotechnology has announced that it will close two of its sites in France, in Schiltigheim (Bas-Rhin) and to Roanne. In this Loire site, 116 jobs are threatened, emphasizes France Blue Saint-Etienne Loire.
Relocation to Singapore
A delegation of employees must be received at the sub-prefecture of Roanne Thursday April 15 during the day.
The group wants to repatriate its research activities to the United States and relocate production to Singapore. This Roanne site has existed since 1981. At the time, it was an SME specializing in medical robots.
