Logan Sargent finishes 4th in the 2022 FIA-F2 championship. His F1 debut with Williams in 2023 is decided.
Williams has announced it will appoint Logan Sargent as driver in 2023 on the condition that he acquires an F1 super licence. I ran four free practice sessions, including Abu Dhabi, to support the acquisition of license points.
Logan Sargent was entering the FIA-F2 finale of his inaugural season with 30 super license points from his F3 performance over the last two years and starts FP1.
The final round was faced with a life or death situation where the 40 point condition for the F1 super license was met in the final race with a classification of 6th or higher. Logan Sargent had a solid race, finishing 6th in the sprint and 5th in the feature race. Lui finished the F2 season in 4th place with Rookie of the Year and added 30 points. He decided the promotion in F1.
Williams are yet to make an official announcement, but this confirms all F1 seats for 2023. Also, Mick Schumacher, whose last hope was an empty seat at Williams, has decided to leave F1.
