Liverpool Manager Juergen Klopp Clarifies Misunderstanding About Requesting Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool Rematch

Liverpool

Juergen Klopp had indicated that he wanted to fight Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool be repeated. But the manager Liverpool it confirms the meaning was misconstrued.

Klopp made this statement after the Premier League Referee Body (PGMOL) admitted that he made a mistake in disallowing Luis Diaz’s goal in the match against Spurs. Liverpool lost dramatically 1-2 in the match which was marked by two red cards for them.

Regarding the apology, Klopp said that the only ideal and correct solution was to compete again. However, it is believed that this will not happen considering its potential to set a precedent that complicates competition.

The statement itself then sparked reactions from Liverpool’s rival clubs, who generally mocked and ridiculed the request. Because injustice from referees and VAR is not the first time this has happened.

However, after Liverpool’s victory over Union Saint Gillois at Anfield, Friday (6/10/2023) early morning WIB, Klopp got his point straight. He did not ask for the match to be held, but for him, in the ideal level, the solution to injustice is a rematch.

“I knew it would be difficult when yesterday I talked about the last match. I knew that. And you proved to me again, everyone, how the world works,” he was quoted as saying Metro.

“I think everyone here heard my words, but everyone obviously understood them differently. But it’s okay.”

“If yesterday I gave the impression that my mind was still on the match against Tottenham, that’s not true at all. That match has passed a long time ago. We have forgotten about it and there are no problems.”

“We’re not kids or anything. We just face a number of questions and answer them,” he added.
