We bring you regular updates on the most exciting transfers, the biggest talents who want to take the next step and the most interesting coaching appointments. Always in a compact four-pack.

Darwin Nuñez

ST, 22, URU | Benfica Lisbon -> Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC have already confirmed their king’s transfer ahead of the start of the official transfer window for the new season. Eleven-time Uruguay international Darwin Nuñez comes from Benfica and costs the Reds a whopping €75m. For Benfica, this is the second most expensive deal in the club’s history, €50m “cheaper” than Joao Felix’ move to Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2019. Nuñez joined Benfica from Almería for €39m ahead of the 2021/22 season, scoring in 41 competitive games 34 goals and became top scorer in the Portuguese league. Most recently, PSG, Bayern, Dortmund, Tottenham, Arsenal and Atlético Madrid also vied for the services of the 187cm tall striker, who has now signed with Liverpool until the summer of 2028.

Giorgio Chiellini

IV, 37, NOW | Juventus Turin – > Los Angeles FC

The Italian soccer legend Giorgio Chiellini spent 17 years with Juventus Turin. During this time, the central defender won nine Scudetti and played 561 games for the “Old Lady”. Before retiring, the 117-time national player and European champion now wants to be seen overseas. Chiellini signed for 1 ½ years with LAFC, where he will be a teammate of the ex-Austrian Ismael Tajouri. At the end of his contract, Chiellini will be 39 years old.

Ryan Gravenberch

ZM, 20, NED | Ajax Amsterdam – > FC Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have secured the services of 190cm tall Dutch eighth Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam at a cost of €18.5m in the deal. Bayern beat Real Madrid, among others, and gave Gravenberch a contract until the summer of 2027. The 20-year-old was a regular at Ajax for two seasons and has already played ten international matches for the “Elftal”. Despite his young age, Gravenberch has already made 103 professional appearances for Ajax, in which he has contributed 12 goals and 13 assists. The prudent midfielder has already won the Dutch championship three times. It could be a feeling he will be able to get used to in Munich too…

Aurelien Tchouameni

DM, 22, CMR | AS Monaco – > Real Madrid

Real Madrid spend a little more on their new six than Bayern did on Gravenberch. The Cameroonian-born Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni comes from AS Monaco, costs 80 million euros right away, but bonus payments could even cost a total of 100 million euros. The now 12-time French team player signed with the “Royal” until 2028 and is expected to replace Luka Modric in midfield in the long run. Monaco had brought the 187cm tall midfielder from Bordeaux 2 ½ years ago for 18 million euros. Most recently, PSG and Liverpool were also interested in Tchouameni, but the Frenchman opted for the (for now) fourth most expensive Real transfer to become Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and 115 million man Eden Hazard. He could still overtake Ronaldo with the bonus payments.
