LIVE | ‘Travel advice Spain yet another blow to the travel industry’ | Inland

The tightening of travel advice for Spain and the Canary Islands is a new blow for the Dutch travel industry, industry organization ANVR reports. It is feared that many travel providers will go under because of the economic damage caused by the corona crisis.

Travel advice for all of Spain will be tightened from Tuesday, from yellow to orange. The new advice also applies to the Canary Islands. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is forced to do so due to the increasing number of infections in the popular holiday destination.

Travel organizations TUI and Corendon currently have thousands of Dutch holidaymakers in Spain. For TUI this concerns almost 4000 Dutch holidaymakers and for Corendon almost 1300. Parts of France are also going orange, the ministry says. This concerns the regions of Sarthe, Hérault and Alpes-Maritimes. Also Monaco and the Scottish city of Aberdeen go on orange.
